About CharityProof

What CharityProof does

CharityProof is a compliance dashboard purpose-built for small UK charities. It brings together annual return preparation, trustee meeting management, policy review tracking, DBS check monitoring, Gift Aid management, and governance code self-assessment — all in one place.

Who it's for

CharityProof is designed for trustees and administrators of small registered charities in England and Wales with annual income under £500k. That includes churches, community groups, PTAs, local sports clubs, scout groups, and small grant-making trusts — typically volunteer-run organisations with no dedicated compliance staff.

Why it exists

Small charities face the same compliance obligations as larger organisations — annual returns, policy reviews, DBS renewals, Gift Aid claims, governance code compliance — but without the staff or budget for dedicated governance tools. Existing software either targets fundraising (starting at £30-50/month) or enterprise governance (hundreds per month). The result: volunteer trustees manage everything across scattered spreadsheets and shared folders, with no reminders and no oversight.

The Charity Commission removed over 1,900 charities from the register in 2023 for late annual returns. The 2025 Charity Governance Code refresh and SORP 2026 changes add new requirements. CharityProof exists to make compliance manageable for the charities that need help most.
